(NADA = Nationale Akupunktur Entgiftung Verband)

If you have decided to quit smoking, alcohol or other addictive substances and are interested in using a safe, chemical free and scientifically proven method, you should definitely look into the NADA protocol.

For years, the NADA Protocol has been successfully used globally in many hospitals to treat nicotine, alcohol and other drug addictions and psychiatric ill adults, Kinder und Jugendliche.
A combination of ear acupuncture points was developed for the NADA prodocol. 5 acupuncture points are treated per ear and a few other strategic points around the body. Once inserted, the needles stay in place for approximately 30 bis 45 minutes per treatment. At the end of the treatment, the needles are removed and replaced with tiny adhesive beads that can be pressed on by the client to curb cravings whenever they arise.

Addicts treated with the NADA protocol often report an improved sense of well-being. Clients often state that they feel “energized,” “lighter” and “more relaxed” after undergoing a session.
Dozens of studies have documented the effectiveness of the NADA protocol. Among the benefits reported by patients and health care providers are: improved retention in drug treatment programs; more optimistic attitudes about detoxification and recovery; reductions in cravings and anxiety; fewer episodes of sleep disturbance; and reduced need for pharmaceuticals. See Evidence of the NADA prodocol.

To achieve optimal results, Clients are encouraged to come in for a NADA acupuncture treatment regularly over a few weeks. This process allows the client’s body chemistry to incrementally adjust, decreasing the severity of drug or alkohol cravings and in some reported cases, completely taking them away. There is no limit to how many times a client can access Jacqueline’s services to assist in their goal to quit smoking.

To further increase your chances of success, Jacqueline recommends that her patients:

  • Enlist emotional support from family and friends
  • Remove themselves from stressful situations that may trigger an emotional desire to smoke
  • Support their body’s transition through this process with healthy nutrition
  • Increase exercise and physical activity
  • Use nicotine patches, gum, nicotine spray or prescribed medication for nicotine cessation, to further chemically decrease cravings
  • Access counselling services for additional emotional support and cognitive strategies from such organisations as the Cancer Council und Quitline.

Ultimately, the success of the treatments depends solely on the patient’s commitment to stop the addictive substance.
